Luke 6:46
46 “Why do you call me ‘Lord, Lord,’ and not do what I tell you?”
You were created to be a lover. We are wired to love God. Do you recognize His grandeur? His majesty? His authority? His wisdom? His tenderness? If you are not loving God you are loving someone or something else–who or what are you loving?
Have you claimed Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior? Do you find comfort in His laws and commandments? Do you find joy in following His instruction? Is obedience something you want to do or have to do?
Psalm 19:7-11
7 The law of the Lord is perfect,
reviving the soul;
the testimony of the Lord is sure,
making wise the simple;
8 the precepts of the Lord are right,
rejoicing the heart;
the commandment of the Lord is pure,
enlightening the eyes;
9 the fear of the Lord is clean,
enduring forever;
the rules of the Lord are true,
and righteous altogether.
10 More to be desired are they than gold,
even much fine gold;
sweeter also than honey
and drippings of the honeycomb.
11 Moreover, by them is your servant warned;
in keeping them there is great reward.
You have been set free from your performance (self-righteousness) that you may trust in a Person (righteousness). Do you love Him? Do you delight in Him? Then trust in Him. You will find great joy in following and serving Him. Walk with the faith of a child and see your desire to obey the Lover of your soul.
Love God! Love God! Love God!
Luke 10:27
27 And he answered, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind, and your neighbor as yourself.”
Do this and you will live.
